SAP is one of the earliest and biggest players in the business software field. The core modules are well established. Outside core modules integration is not seamless or not supported. The focus is slightly more on large corporations. For small and medium size businesses it is often criticised as being rigid and the customer will have to adjust. This makes installations lengthy. Pricing is very complicated which fuzzes transparency, and lifetime costs are high.

Woodpecker is a mid-range lifetime cost product with very transparent pricing. Online visibility is default, with options for on premise or private clouds. Mobile screen layouts are available for some features and can be developed for others on request. Because of close fitting, the system typically requires lengthy installation, throughout which the Woodpecker team offers continuous support.
